What Makes BaseLayer.id Different

BaseLayer.id is built on a zero-knowledge architecture:

• Local-First Storage: Your data is stored on your device, not our servers
• End-to-End Encryption: All data is encrypted with keys we never have access to
• Zero-Knowledge Sync: Even when syncing across devices, your data remains encrypted in transit and at rest
• No Data Mining: We cannot and do not access, read, or analyze your content

Information We Collect

1. Waitlist Information (Pre-Launch)

When you join our waitlist, we collect:

• Email address: To notify you when BaseLayer.id launches and send product updates
• Timestamp: When you joined the waitlist
• User agent: Browser and device information for basic analytics

Purpose: Waitlist management and launch communications.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Because of our local-first, zero-knowledge architecture:

• Your AI agent memories: Stored only on your devices
• Your conversations: Never transmitted to our servers
• Your encryption keys: Generated and stored locally; we cannot access them
• Your content: Any data you store in BaseLayer.id remains private and inaccessible to us

How We Store and Protect Your Information

Waitlist Data

• Stored securely on encrypted servers
• Access restricted to essential personnel only
• Retained only as long as necessary for launch communications

Your BaseLayer.id Data (Product)

• Local Storage: Encrypted on your device using industry-standard encryption
• Optional Sync: If you enable multi-device sync, data is encrypted in transit using TLS and stored encrypted on our sync infrastructure
• Zero-Knowledge: We use end-to-end encryption, meaning only you have the keys to decrypt your data

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We Do Not Sell Your Data

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Limited Sharing

We may share information only in these circumstances:

• Service Providers: Trusted vendors who help us operate the waitlist (e.g., email service providers), under strict confidentiality agreements
• Legal Obligations: When required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, with advance notice to you

Important: Due to our zero-knowledge architecture, we cannot share your BaseLayer.id content even if compelled by law—we don't have access to it.

Data Retention

• Waitlist Data: Retained until product launch plus 90 days, or until you request deletion
• Product Data: Your BaseLayer.id content is stored on your devices indefinitely (under your control) or until you delete it
• Sync Data: If you use our sync service and delete your data, encrypted copies are removed within 30 days

Children's Privacy

BaseLayer.id is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@baselayer.id.

International Data Transfers

If you're accessing BaseLayer.id from outside the United States, please be aware that your waitlist information may be transferred to and stored in the United States. We implement appropriate safeguards to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
• Sending an email to waitlist members (for pre-launch changes)
• Posting a notice in the BaseLayer.id application (post-launch)

Your continued use of BaseLayer.id after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Remember: Because of our zero-knowledge architecture, even a breach of our systems would not expose your BaseLayer.id content—we don't have the keys to decrypt it.
